More guns would help

December 8, 2015 by Guest Post

It was a very tragic event that took place in CA where 14 people died. If someone had a gun they could have defended themselves and perhaps a few others. Those who started the shooting would have fled or died.
Did you know that in CA it is illegal to have a gun and bullets in the same place while in a vehicle. Who thought of that! The terrorists sure didn’t follow this law, did they?
We need to be able to protect ourselves and taking away guns from the average citizen is not going to stop a criminal or terrorist from committing a crime with a gun. A friend in Vegas was accosted by an individual with a knife who demanded money or he was going to stab him. My friend had a gun and told the criminal that, and asked did he want to take his chances? The criminal took off, otherwise my friend could have lost his life over a few dollars.
It is a fact that where there are no guns crime goes up and any terrorist can come in and take advantage of this situation. Our Constitution gives us the right to protect ourselves, take that away and you are a sitting duck for anyone to assault you.
Here are some gun facts: guns prevent 2.5 million crimes a year or 6,849 a day, most often they are never fired. 60% of convicted felons admitted avoiding a crime if the victim was armed.
Washington DC banned guns in 1976 and the murder rate is now 56.9 per 100,000 and across the river in Arlington VA gun laws are less restrictive and murder is 1.6 per 100,000. Look up the facts yourselves.
If states relaxed conceal carry laws then more law abiding citizens would be able to protect themselves and others. Gun control does not protect us, having guns does.
