Harry H. Dozier Jr. of Stevensville passed away on Monday May 19, 2014. Harry Jr. was born to Harry and Doris Dozier in March 1940 in Columbus, Ohio.
Harry’s father was a preacher and they traveled for many years across the country to camp meetings. They finally settled in the Denver area where Harry graduated from the Pillar of Fire School in 1958. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy and that became his home for 20 years. Harry retired from the Navy in June 1978 in Denver. Harry went to work for the USPS in 1979 and carried the mail in Wheatridge, CO until transferring to the Hellgate post office in Missoula, Montana in 1994. He retired from carrying the mail in 2006 after 27 years.
Harry married Karen Dozier in 1981 and they have two children, Harry III and Cynthia Dozier Padgett. He has a daughter, Michelle, from a previous marriage.
Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry Sr., and one niece, Priscilla.
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Stevensville, his children; daughter, Cynthia (Scott) Padgett of Homewood, Alabama; grandchildren Logan, Lucas and Layla; son, Harry (Amanda) of Louisville, Kentucky, and grandson,Tucker; daughter Michelle Cowling of Denver; his mother Doris, of Denver; sisters; Roberta (Carl) Pratt of Missouri, and Lois (Kenny) Hoke of Denver; and many nieces and nephews of Missouri, Colorado, Montana, Alaska and North Dakota
A big farewell, from the Great White Hope and Cracklin Rosie, to all his Black Sheep Van Club friends in Denver.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 3 p.m. at Whitesitt Funeral Home.
