At its regularly scheduled meeting on February 4, the Hamilton City Council approved on first reading an ordinance change that would establish a single transient vendor fee of $50 for all vendors. The previous ordinance imposed two fees, one $100 fee for food and flower vendors and a $50 fee for retail vendors.
The Council also approved the resubmittal of a grant application for Community Development Block Grant funds for wastewater treatment plant improvements, Phase II. The primary focus of the $450,000 grant is to install an Ultra-Violet disinfection system to meet DEQ discharge permit requirements. The City has already received approval of DNRC and TCEP grants toward the project.
The Council authorized the Mayor to sign a contract with RAM Engineering for the design and construction management services for paving 3rd Street shoulders for $15,200.
The Council authorized the Mayor to sign an addendum to an agreement with Kent Kearns regarding city water hook ups. The agreement would allow Kearns to get nineteen ¾ inch water connections instead of a dozen one inch connections and use them at the subdivision on Thebian Lane or at other places in the city. The contract sunsets in 15 years.
Another ordinance gained approval on second reading regarding construction, reconstruction, modification or placement of a building and will go into effect in thirty days from that decision.
