Darby takes down St. Regis in close game

The Lady Tigers came from behind to tie the game against St. Regis and then, with less than a second remaining, take the lead and the win over St. Regis. Lacey Dolcater sank the last of three free throws after being fouled from three point land to make the score 54-53 and Darby had the win.

A slow third period put Darby down by nine points. But tough defense held St. Regis to only seven points in the final quarter while Darby scored 17 points. Lauren Dolcater had 19 points to lead all scorers.

Darby lost to Drummond, 51-43, earlier in the week. Although the Lady Tigers played tough, they couldn’t contain Drummond. Keely Ehmann had 14 points to lead Darby’s scoring.

Hamilton notched a couple of wins over the weekend. The Lady Broncs topped Hellgate in non-conference action on Friday. The Lady Broncs had to come from behind to take the 60-55 win. Jaylee Albert was the leading scorer for Hamilton with 19 points including three treys.

Hamilton was host to Anaconda on Saturday in conference play. The Lady Broncs built an early lead and went on to win, 68-45. Goligoski had 29 points for the winners.

Florence and Deer Lodge matched up in a battle of the unbeaten on Thursday in Deer Lodge. Both teams had two conference wins. Deer Lodge came out on fire and took the win, 48-30. Megan Byrne had nine points to lead Florence.

On Saturday, the Whitefish Bulldogs came to town for a non-conference game. Florence jumped out to score 23 points in the first quarter and went on to win, 67-31. Nikki Schurg had 14 points. Megan Kowalski had 11 and Carli O’Brien finished with 10 points in the game.

Victor picked up a couple of wins over the weekend. The Lady Pirates defeated Valley Christian, 48-37. Haley Tillotson finished with 23 points and Ryanne Tracy had 12 points. On Saturday, the Lady Pirates topped Alberton, 53-23. Tracy had 17 points and Tillotson finished with 13 points. Victor now has a 3-2 conference record.
