NVPL Winter Break Activities
Come to the library and get out of the house for winter break fun! Every weekday from 2 to 4 p.m., the library will host free and enriching activities and movies (with popcorn) for all youth and families. On Thursday, December 27, prepare yourself to be transported to a mythical land in a movie about a headstrong girl and her Scottish family. On Friday, December 28, the library will host a winter art day – drop in to make a watercolor winter wonderland and a unique New Year’s Eve masquerade mask. And before you start the party on Monday, December 31, come to the library for a showing of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones’ latest release about the secret world of aliens. The dramatic production of “Beowulf” scheduled for December 27 at the Ravalli County Museum has been cancelled. Call the museum at 363-3338 for more information.

Darby Library computer session
Darby Community Public Library will hold a Computer Work Session for Beginners on Friday, December 28 at 9 a.m. Bring your basic computer questions with you and work with assistance the last Friday of each month from 9 to 10 a.m.
At the Friday night dance on December 28, the Golden Age Club members and guests will celebrate the Christmas holiday season by offering party snacks throughout the evening. A cheese and meat tray, courtesy of the club, Christmas goodies brought by members, coffee and juice will be available. Dancing begins at 7:30 p.m. at the hall, 727 S. 5th, Hamilton. Dick Reinbold’s band plays for this party; Bob Olson’s New Bitter Root Five on December 2, and the Valley Rhythm Boys on January 4. The cost is $3 per person. The next business meeting is on January 2 after the 12:30 potluck dinner.

Spiritual discussion group
Ever wonder what The Course in Miracles is all about? There will be a book discussion of “The Disappearance of the Universe” by Gary R. Renard, a wonderful introduction to The Course in Miracles. This book discussion group meets every Wednesday morning beginning January 2 from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1782 N. First Street (behind Sears), Hamilton. The Center for Spiritual Living invites the community to the showing of “The Shift” starring Wayne Dyer. Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot
The usual meeting of Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot has been postponed one week due to the holiday. On Tuesday, January 8, the group will meet at BJ’s Restaurant in Hamilton. From 6 to 7 p.m. there will be a social hour, with cocktails and dinner optional. The New Year will start with a program including club events and highlights along with photos of local and exotic places that have been submitted by the club’s many terrific fly fishers.
