County to live stream meetings on internet

The County Commissioners are on the verge of adopting a new policy governing video and audio taping of their meetings. According to the draft policy still under review, the written minutes will serve as the officially adopted record of county business, but meetings deemed to be of significant public interest will be live streamed over the internet so that people with the capability can watch and even participate in the meeting from remote sites.

Although the policy does not require the placement of the video recording on the county’s website, members of the public, upon request, may obtain a copy of the video recording. The policy calls for keeping a copy of the video recordings for at least a year.
